The board of directors of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), led by Chairman Yair Shamir, has approved the recommendation proposed by IAI President and CEO Itzhak Nissan, to nominate Arie Weisbort to the position of General Manager (GM) of the Aero Assemblies Division of IAI's Commercial Aircraft Group (CAG).
Arie Weisbort held a number of key positions during his service in the Israel Air Force from 1985 to 1998. Among those positions was commander of the Ovda Israel Air force base (1994-1997), UAV squadron commander (1989-1992), and head of the research branch in the Air Force intelligence (1987-1989).
From 1999 until 2004, Weisbort was an organizational consultant for financial matters. From 2005 until this nomination to the position of GM of the Aero Assemblies Division, Weisbort was a partner and CEO of a company supplying the international market.
Arie Weisbort holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from Ben Gurion University, and holds a MA in management from Auburn University in Alabama. He is a graduate of the National Defense College, a program run by the American Air Force.
