Naval Training and Simulation - NCMI - Onboard Embedded Training System (OBTS)

General Virtual Entities (CGF) NCMI value proposition

Modern naval forces encounter a wide variety of threats. In order to achieve high level performance in naval warfare, the entire crew must be trained in different scenarios representing the full range of operational situations they might face in combat. As modern combat systems become more complex and more integrated, the need increases for team training in which the real operational combat systems are used at the real environment, hence at sea, providing positive training. The ideal timing for training is just before or on the way to the mission

A Naval task force equipped with NCMI can perform a full LVC (live Virtual Constructive) training at sea.
NCMI is a networked on board training system that offers complete training at sea using the warship's integral systems.

NCMI is integrated with the combat systems via the combat LAN (other solutions are available for legacy platforms). High Fidelity virtual entities are displayed as real entities to the combat system operators. The combat system suite reacts to the virtual entities in a similar manner to its reaction to real targets. For example, a simulated missile fired towards the ship will be viewed by the trained crew as a real one.
