NCMI is part of the joint force training concept of MLM IAI and part of the "Ehud\FPR\SEMAC\RAIDS" ACMI family of products used by many Air forces across the world. This allows advanced Air - Sea training with many air forces world wide.
NCMI offers full Interoperability between ships, helicopters, aircrafts and ground based systems - regardless of distance between them and from the home port.
The NCMI embedded training solution allows the naval task force to exercise and rehearse its mission on the way to the location or at the location itself. This ability is extremely important nowadays as missions vary from peace keeping, via Piracy intervention to ground force assistance and more.
Various scenarios can be trained via the system, including anti symmetric warfare, anti piracy missions and traditional naval combat.
NCMI Provides Multi task & Multi force tactical training at sea. It presents the operators with a hybrid tactical environment composed of real and virtual targets. The naval training system builds the training picture form the following elements
- Real exercised Entities (warships, aircraft, naval helicopters etc.)
- Simulated Sea and Air Entities
- Neutral entities tracked by the instrumented platforms' sensors (merchant vessels, fishing boats etc.)
Real platforms passing through the arena are observed by the exercise participants and the simulation engine. Both the virtual forces and trainees react to the live scenario. The virtual target reacts to both trained and neutral targets according to their predefined doctrine.
The Virtual target has an "artificial intelligence" that is based on a set of predefined instructions how to react in various situations. The set of rules defines a doctrine.
This doctrine allows many virtual targets to be operated by very few or even a single exercise operator. The exercise control is performed in real time allowing change in the exercise plan to fit real time decisions by trained commanders that my be different than anticipated. This can dramatically improve the course of the exercise and save precious time and resources.
The virtual targets are defined with very high fidelity, allowing the simulation engine to simulate very close to real life. The Proprietary simulation data link protocol was designed to support the distribution of data over a narrow-band network via S-Band or VSAT. The data link network supports high rate data transfer and Long range communication
